Episode 08: Arches

Arches is a wonderland of topography that stays true to its namesake. Large arches and domes that crisscross the landscape like superhighways. Many formations held interesting shapes like Bryce Canyon’s hoodoos, but they seemed larger and more substantial. I enjoyed the drive through the park just as much as standing under these magnificent arches. Of course, nothing beats doing tai chi and qi gong at the arches! Although the crowds were not oppressive, there were too many people to practice directly under an arch. Not to mention the arches are too large to capture both my movement and the arch itself. I did find a nice spot between two paths, however, that avoided the crowds and gave me a wonderful backdrop. I even found enough space for Wudang 13! Alas, my visit was too short, the day was hot and was not able to explore this park as much as I would like. Next time, I will stay here a couple of days and hike the trails.
